09:40 pm - IC '05
This is where my red yarn finally fell off. I believe it was Sunday night and Lauren rushed with me to my room to change because I had finally gotten a new key after the other one had been deactivated by a magnet in my pocket (you know, one of those things that flash when you twist it on)and I still had my red shirt on from the bus reunion but I was on the green team and the shirt I changed into WAS green not yellow. I got crap first for wearing a red shirt, then I changed and got crap from people for wearing a yellow one... but it WASN'T YELLOW. :-P. Whew. Sunday night was fun, I think the gameshow thing was a good idea.

06:43 pm - Thought of the Day about Myspace
Tinkerbell23906: i see that i am out of your top 8
Tinkerbell23906: that is okay
Tinkerbell23906: i understand
Tinkerbell23906: if i really cared then i probably wouldn't be complaining
Tinkerbell23906: you're not in mine
Tinkerbell23906: then again
Tinkerbell23906: i have never changed mine
Tinkerbell23906: but if i did
Tinkerbell23906: you would be
Tinkerbell23906: but i didn't
Tinkerbell23906: so it's okay
Tinkerbell23906: i'm not mad at you
Tinkerbell23906: at all
Tinkerbell23906: but see
Tinkerbell23906: that's the reason I woudlnt want to change my top 8. i wouldn't want to offend anyone, because just because someone is not in my top eight that does not mean i dont like them as a person it just maybe means i haven't known them as long or i'm not as tite with them.
Tinkerbell23906: but then
Tinkerbell23906: maybe they think that they are tite with you and it's like "hey man, i thought we were close"
Tinkerbell23906: so there should be no top 8
Tinkerbell23906: and i'm done

10:03 pm - Pick-Up Line
Brandon came over today. After we were done with most of our homework I made him fill out the IC form, and I came up with the best pick-up line ever:
"Can I be your emergency info?" <--Say that seductively.

"Whom can I accuse, of whom revenge demand,
When I have borne deep suffering at my own hand?
Other hearts have held hatred for me,
But my own heart hates me more than anyone knows.
My body bears the wounds of relentless foes,
But none can match my self -inflicted wounds.
I have been seduced for my destruction
But none have lured me more than my own eyes.
I have been burned by countless fires,
But none compare to the heat of my desires.
In traps I've been ensnared by old and young,
But none have trapped me better than my tongue.
Bandits have pursued me, fast and fleet,
But none pursue me faster than my feet.
...
Whom can I blame, how can I function,
When I am the source of my own destruction?

06:17 pm - The Little Life Lesson of Today
Let's say your friend calls you up and their day just got totally ruined. Now, you haven't been feeling so hot all day yourself, but you want to listen and you want to let your friend vent. But at the same time you want them to listen to you vent when they're done. Now, I'm not saying that both friends shouldn't be there for each other, but sometimes instead of worrying about your own problems and having someone make you feel better, the good thing to do may be to perk up a little and to just make them feel better. Let yourself lighten up a little; it could help you both of you smile.
We all have it bad sometimes. Instead of being down together, bring each other up.

12:44 pm - Apples Dipped in Honey for Rosh Hashana
Today after services I decide I want apples and honey, so I get an apple and one of those things that will slice it and get rid of the core for you at the same time. I bring it over to the dining room table, put the apple slicer on the apple and push down. I make dents in the apple but not much else happens. I try to push harder but it's still not working, so in an effort to use all my weight to push down the slicer, I put my left foot on the chair next to me and and jump up, banging my right leg really hard on the edge of the table. I fall to the ground in pain and curl up in a ball holding my thigh, waiting for the pain to go away. At this point my parents who are in the kitchen have turned around to see what's going on. My dad asks if I'm okay (which I am) and steps over me. "Eryn," he says, "you were using the wrong side."
Oy vey.

03:38 pm - Little Stuff
So I found my key this morning.
Yesterday I got home and realized I didn't have my key and so I walked to Brandon's and chilled with him.
I needed today SO MUCH. Today was probably the best timing for a half day ever.
Amazing.
Wore my yellow toe socks today that Emily and I shared at Alcatraz...:-D
So Sreya looks down and points and goes, "Your toes! They're yellow!"
Maybe you had to hear her say it but it was kinda funny.
It's fall, everyone. The candle in my dining room smells like fall, I've been drinking hot chocolate (which I guess is more winter but whatever), the air has been nippy in the morning, after school today it may have been warm but I swear, I smelled snow...:-D aaaaaaaaah... and lookin forward to when the leaves fall and make HUGE piles in the streets for you to jump in!
Try to never lose your inner child

11:17 pm - MARCHING BAND, WOOT WOOT
IT WAS SOOO GREAT.
I love being in the band. It was hot and I was sweaty and we lost but it's all good because we lost by much less than I thought we would.
We don't get water. Cheerleaders don't get water either. NOT ONLY THE FRICKEN FOOTBALL PLAYERS SWEAT. (Oh, but girls don't sweat, they glisten :-P.) Lookin at Eric's face, I would have believed he had just taken a shower or poured a bottle of water on his face or something! (Not drum major, Eric, the sophmore.)
We had to play a song that we'd only practiced once three weeks ago (Enter Sandman, which by the way is pretty awsome)and that kinda blew...get it? Marching band? Blew?
haha, ha, ha....
Our halftime show needs work, but it will get better.
Ker said that she didn't see the squares...there were supposed to be squares. Dalia said she saw the shapes though....
Oh well, they both said we looked good overall.
No but really, it was very cool.
:-D

01:15 pm - A Prayer for Victims of Hurricane Katrina
Are You watching, G-d?
Have You seen the innocent swept away?
Are You listening G-d?
Have You heard their cries?
Be with them, G-d.
Be their strength and their comfort.
Let them know You are near.
Work through us, G-d.
Teach us to be Your messengers on earth.
Wake us up, G-d,
Show us how to help.
Use us, G-d, shine through us,
Inspire us to rebuild the ruins.
Open our hearts so we can comfort the mourning.
Open our arms so we can extend our hands to those in need. Shake us out of our
complacency, G-d.
Be our guide,
Transform our helplessness into action,
Our generous intentions into charity,
Turn the prayers of our souls into acts of kindness and compassion. Amen.

03:20 pm - Random things happening in life right now
So as you probably know, I am now back in school. The first day kind of sucked. It was a very "blah" day and I didn't really want to be there and it was weird to be back, back in school, back in classes, back with all the people.... But the past couple days I've gotten much more used to it and each day has gotten progressively better. Parts of today was actually kind of fun.
I like my NSL teacher a lot she's really nice, very personable, and an interesting teacher. I like her a lot. And my math teacher is actually good at teaching! It's a nice change, I've had some experiences with not so great math teachers (Mrs. Resop (though funny things definitely tended to happen with her...the marker...the chalk...), Mrs. Bober (I don't know if anyone reading this would understand...but that was an awful class with hilarious times!))
The people in my classes aren't bad at all. In my Spanish class there's this freshman who I did ballet with when I was 4. We both remember being butterflies :-D. It would be nice if some people who aren't in my classes were, though.
I feel like I have two worlds now: the Goonie world and the school world.
So the other day in the shower I was thinking and I was like "hey, it's almost fall the crickets are going to start to come in our house soon" (don't worry not many of my thoughts are that dull)and then lo-and-behold a cricket is sitting on the trashcan in my room. And the next morning I heard one in the laundry room.
It's like I have ESPN or something! :-P
random fact....
Speaking of bugs there was a tiny one on my math book when I was doing homeowork today and I was having fun blowing at it to make it stop moving, and after I stopped blowing the bug would go crazy and walk around REALLY fast for a second then slow down. I kept doing this, watching it not be able to move and then see it get a sudden burst of energy. Eventually I think I blew too hard or it just got tired of hanging on and it blew away...woops....

01:06 pm - No food
I really want to go grocery shopping.
We have salsa and no chips, cream cheese and no bagels, jelly and no peanut butter...the only healthy stuff in the house is some fake meat, Smart Start cereal, milk, orange juice, some plums, and maybe some carrots if they haven't gone bad.
I'm really curious what my parents ate while I was gone....

01:18 pm - Drinking and Driving
Last night, a family friend was at a stop light when hit by a drunk driver going 50 mph. Two of his friends were killed and he is now in the hospital. Most of us are taught in school about what the effects of drinking and driving can be, but many people don't take it seriously.
What most of us don't realize until it's too late is that drunk driving really can hurt you or someone you know. This is going to sound like one of those video's they show you in school, but it's true: the danger is real. It can be hard to take seriously until it effects you.
Just put yourself in the situation, imagine if it was you, and it very well could be.
Please never drink and drive, and never let anyone you know drink and drive, no matter what age they are. Drinking and driving could cost the life of someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, mom, dad, friend... and it's something that can be avoided. This doesn't have to happen.
07:54 am - Toothbrushing
So last night I babysat for these two kids and while the girl brushed her teeth she began to chew on the toothbrush instead of actually brush with it. That made me remember how I used to do that. I'd forgotten I used to do that unitl yesterday, and I don't know when I stopped. Now I'm kind of curious when the last time was that I chewed on my toothbrush while brushing....It's just kind of fun remembering your old habbits.
GAHHHH. SOMEONE GET ME ANIT-ITCH BENADRYL SPRAY STUFF FOR MY FEET PRONTO.
I'm going to itch my foot off, hopefully not literally.
:-/ now I'm thinking about Saw...freaky, freaky movie...
I'm off to bikeride
<3.
